Club News March 14 Meeting Kern County Supervisor Zack Scrivner visited the California City Optimist Club during their monthly meeting at Chuck's Pizza Mondaynight and encouraged the club to continue to dedicate their efforts to help our local youth. The Supervisor talked about some of the changes happening in the Kern County medical changes, OHV efforts to promote safe and legal riding and the decision to have "In God we trust" displayed on the Board of Supervisor podium like we have at City Hall. Mr. Scrivner will be back in Cal City to be the guest speaker at the EDC 5th Thursday Dinner on Mach 31st. Optimist Club president, Jean Paul LeBlanc and Linda Waldheim, Hacienda Junior Optimist Club (JOOIFUL JETS) advisor, remit Cheryl Bailey who is responsible for Camp KEEP and Madison Sprague, JOOI Club president, a check for $1000.00 to help send more kids to the annual one week interactive learning camp. The California Optimist Club will host a Meet & Greet get together on March 26th at the Strata Sports Center from 12 noon till 3:00 pm. Free hot dogs and lemonade will be served and city residents are invited to come meet club members and find out what Optimism is all about in Cal City
